Kelly Cardoso
Controller and Vessel Operations Manager
Kelly Cardoso grew up around fishermen. Her uncle owned seven fishing boats, and she has spent most of her career working in the commercial fishing industry.
She earned her master’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth and worked in banking and finance, as well as in manufacturing before joining Mar-Lees Seafood in New Bedford in 2007, where she worked in sales, logistics and plant management.
She has been part of New England Marine since its founding in 2010, and since then she has done almost every job — vessel maintenance and rebuilding, unloading scallop boats, working with the crews, overseeing relationships with vendors, maintaining fishing schedules, filing daily catch reports, and overseeing settlement checks to captains and crews.
She lives in New Bedford.
